The positive impact the program is having on the Haitian community as a whole.

Access and Visitation Programme (V.I.) started the pilot-week parenting program to the Haitian Community. the Department of Justice Paternity and Child Support Division is now shut down. More than 100 participants in the program were recognized at a ceremony for graduation that was held on the 11th of October at Living Word Family Ministries, Smith Bay. The class was designed to foster healthy relationships between parents and children as well as improve the safety of children and their well-being. The class taught practical methods for co-parenting as well as increasing father involvement in their children’s schooling. The department is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of the families of children by providing programs to achieve these objectives.

AVP thank the community and parents who helped to make the program’s pilot success. The virtual classes were offered between August and October on Mondays between 12:45 and 12:30 pm. The class covered topics like the current parenting classes like Mother’s Matter and Fatherhood Buzz. If it weren’t for being a member of the First Haitian Baptist Church in St. Thomas, this important program would not have been feasible.
